Exercise Therapy

You may not be familiar with the term or even the idea of an “Exercise Therapist,” but after training with me you will appreciate the difference between exercise therapy and ordinary personal training.

“Exercise Therapy” is about building strength through compassion. What does that mean? It means that my goal for our sessions is to build a relationship with you where I connect with you, where I learn your weak spots, where I learn your strengths, and where I utilize that knowledge to turn you into the best you that you can be.

It’s a general rule of personal training that there is pain, there is fatigue, there is frustration. But, most personal trainers’ abilities to motivate you are limited to counting higher reps with some variety of yelling, “Come On! You can do it! One more!”

My approach goes beyond you pushing through ordinary muscle fatigue and loss of will.

My approach considers the deeper issues of confidence, self-esteem and self-doubt to get you to truly appreciate the changes that exercise brings. Clients who work with me get in the best physical shapes of their lives.

I make sure my clients appreciate their accomplishments so that being in the best physical shape means overcoming fears, obstacles and doubts. My clients also get in the best emotional shape of their lives.

I work with teenagers and young adults struggling with typical teenage afflictions depression to Asperger’s Syndrome. I help  them to feel good about themselves through guided and supported exercise.

I have worked with several teenagers who were afraid of their own body image, who couldn’t get off the couch, who couldn’t even look you in the eye, and motivated them to train, twice a week, to lose weight, and to talk to me.

These are some of the clients I am most proud of.

“Exercise Therapy” requires more than a before and after selfie. “Exercise Therapy” requires a before and after “soul”fie.  Work with me, and feel better physically and emotionally.

You will never be stronger, and you will never feel better.
